SHIFT YOUR FOCUS TO THE SENSES
To do something well, you need to pay attention no matter what the task is. You won’t accomplish what you are supposed to if you aren’t paying attention. Therefore if you realize that your attention is wandering, distract yourself from your work for a few minutes. You will feel better very quickly when you do. We can tune-in to a higher level of consciousness through the natural world. If possible, take a walk or sit in a park. Gazing out the window at a tree or a flower can also provide a powerful boost. Just take a moment to relax and observe the natural world around you. Give your brain a little break because no matter what the task is, if you don’t pay attention, you won’t succeed. Intense restorative effects can be achieved by taking a break from thinking. You can easily achieve this by shifting your attention to your senses by tuning into what you see, hear, smell, taste, and touch. Take a moment to observe the natural world around you and you will feel a sense of serenity. The key is to simply relax, take a deep breath, and observe the details of the natural world around you. You will soon discover that these short mental breaks can be deeply restorative.
