LOOK FROM A DIFFERENT ANGLE
The ability to see things in perspective is very important in school and in life in general. Sometimes it can be helpful if you can access your creative side and look from a different angle at problems. When you challenge your mind and tackling a problem creatively it can open your eyes to the possibility of approaching a problem differently. Although you may not consider yourself creative, stimulating your mind and addressing a problem in a different way can help you see things in a whole new way. When we are struggling with a challenging situation, the inner world of our thoughts can at times feel overwhelming with spiralling worries.
Creative activities help us to disengage from overwhelm and help us to shift our perspective and aid the brain in making connections and solving problems. For this purpose keep a tray of art supplies, such as modelling clay, paints and brushes, highlighters and pipe cleaners ready on a nearby shelf or even on your desk. Then in moments where you feel stuck or overwhelmed, take a few minutes to daydream and play with the materials on the tray. These moments when you tap into your creative side and start combining shapes or mixing different colours might just help you to recall memories and to discover new insights and ideas.
